ABOUT THIS PIECE
A half inch scale round miniature pottery vase with a geometric resist design. The porcelain is self-glazing. It is additionally glazed in a black/gold glaze. The piece has a narrow opening perfect for a single flower or another thin miniature piece. This elegant piece was made in porcelain using my own miniature wheel.

ABOUT
Maddie’s miniatures are a craft handed passed on from her aunt, nationally recognized miniaturist Jane Graber. Maddie creates these tiny pieces using a wheel she built herself, her fingers and a needle tool. Each piece is handcrafted and one-of-a-kind artisan miniature.

ARTIST STATEMENT
I am interested in capturing an intimate moment with the viewer: shared seconds of authenticity. Quiet forms, reflective mirror finishes and soft porcelain build the personality of my pieces and demonstrate my own search for authenticity and delight. The intimate scale of my miniatures begs the viewer to come close and relish the moment.

My work is the process of searching for the root of something very human and very tender.
